Our Services

MY Dental Place focuses on your oral health as well as enhancing the natural beauty of your smile. For more information about these services and taking care of your oral health, call for an appointment and visit MouthHealthy.org, the American Dental Association’s website just for patients. Here are some of the general oral health care we provide:

Preventive Services

  • Regular checkups include comprehensive exams, digital checkups and dental hygiene. It is the best way to prevent and detect problems at their earliest stages which saves unnecessary discomfort and treatment.

  • Begin oral care early for your children to help them develop a lifetime of good dental habits. Preventing tooth decay is important and the most effective way besides good oral hygiene is by undergoing fluoride treatment regularly. We can also do fluoride for adults, just ask!

  • Grinding of the teeth is a medical condition called bruxism. Bruxing can wear down and destroy your teeth. Occlusal mouthguards will reduce the risk of wear. It may also relieve head neck, jaw joint and shoulder pain caused by bruxing. Custom made guards are highly recommended.

Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry

  • A filling, inlay or onlay repairs and restores the function and the surfaces of a tooth that has been damaged by decay, fracture, or wear.

  • A dental crown restores a tooth's shape, size, and strength. It fully encases the visible portion of your tooth or dental implant. Crowns are often placed when the remaining sound tooth structure cannot hold a filling.

  • A veneer improves the appearance of the visible front surface of a tooth by covering it with a wafer-thin, custom-made shell of tooth-colored porcelain.

  • Root canal treatment is also known as endodontic treatment. This treatment saves an extensively injured, cracked, or decayed tooth when its pulp becomes inflamed or infected causing severe pain, probable swelling and resulting abscess.

  • Are you missing one or more teeth? Replacing the teeth restores your bite and helps maintain the natural shape of the face. If you are having difficulty in eating or speaking, feel embarrassed to smile or even suffering from ill-fitting dentures, Dental implants in most cases offer a permanent solution for one or more missing teeth.

  • When you lose some or all your natural teeth implants are not always an option for everyone. Bridges (fixed) and dentures (removable) can replace the teeth and improve your life by making eating and speaking easier.

  • Clear aligners are a proven technology to straighten your teeth by using a gradual force to control tooth movement. But unlike traditional braces it is invisible, removable, no show of metal wires or brackets! Oral hygiene is even easier while under treatment. Dr. Yu is an Invisalign certified dentist. Ask about an Invisalign consult next time you are in the office!

  • Teeth whitening enhances the brightness of natural teeth. Professional whitening treatment is so effective that only dentists should dispense them. We use Opalescence whitening gel that you wear in custom made trays for home use. Give your smile and confidence a boost.

Periodontal Care

The term Periodontal means “surrounding the tooth”. The gums and tissues supporting the teeth need maintenance the same way we care for our teeth. Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection most often caused by the build-up of plaque and tartar when teeth are not routinely brushed and flossed. Do not wait until it hurts before you go for routine periodontal care.

Oral Surgery

The removal of hopeless teeth and mal-positioned third molars, also called wisdom teeth, are the usual type of oral surgery provided in the office. We also offer other surgeries such as bone grafting, ridge preservation, gingivectomy and crown lengthening.

Emergency Care

Stay calm. Do you have a toothache? A bitten tongue or lip with excessive bleeding? A broken or knocked-out tooth? Is something caught between your teeth? Focus on managing the problem and call us to see you as soon as possible. If it is a medical emergency call 9-1-1.
